The FBI has increased the reward to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. The case has now stretched nearly two weeks.

Investigators also released new identifying details about a suspect seen in previously circulated doorbell camera footage.

After forensic analysis by the FBI’s Operational Technology Division, the suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with an average build. He is seen wearing a black, 25-liter “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack.

Since February 1, 2026, the FBI says it has received more than 13,000 tips.Each one is reviewed for credibility and relevance. Threat Intake Examiners at the National Threat Operations Center, along with FBI personnel, are staffing a 24-hour command post. Dozens of agents are assigned to follow up on leads each shift.

Media outlets are being told to forward any tips directly to the FBI. The bureau said it does not comment on tips related to ongoing investigations. Information can be submitted at 1-800-CALL-FBI or tips.fbi.gov.

Meanwhile, two letters sent to TMZ have demanded 1 Bitcoin, roughly $67,000, in exchange for identifying the alleged kidnapper. One note stated, “If they want the name of the individual involved then I want 1 Bitcoin to the following wallet. Time is more than relevant.” A second message said, “I am not being taken seriously.” TMZ reported it withheld certain details while cooperating with police.

Authorities previously detained one man for questioning, but he was later released. Guthrie, the mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen January 31 after having dinner with her daughter Annie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni. She was reported missing after failing to attend church.
