Billionaire Kim Kardashian’s rich boyfriend says ‘you shouldn’t be allowed to have billions,’ there should be ‘a law’ against it

Sir Lewis Carl Hamilton, race car driver, and billionaire beauty mogul and reality TV star Kim Kardashian made their relationship Instagram official last week when Kardashian posted a photo dump of shots with her and her private jet, with an Hermes bag, and with Hamilton. Hamilton, whose Instagram features photos of himself winning trophies and posing with flashy race cars and yachts, said on a podcast that there should be a law against billionaires.

“One of the things I struggle with every day, and it’s just how life is and it’s been that way for thousands of years, that there is such a disparity between wealthy and the poor,” he said to Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast. Shetty had asked him what law he would implement if he could make one law that everyone in the world had to follow. Both of them answered the question—neither of them said they would make a law against murder, child abuse, or rape.

“And you know, you still, when you drive around LA,” Hamilton went on, “there’s still so many people living on the streets. You shouldn’t be able to have billions, right, I think there should be a limit to how much you can have because there’s enough to go around to everyone, so somehow create a law that created more equality and equal access to every, for everyone. You know, I don’t know how you would implement that law.”

“That’s all good,” Shetty said.  “But like jeez man, I’ve met kids that are starving,” Hamilton continued. His new girlfriend is worth nearly $2 billion. Hamilton is gaining with an estimated net worth of half a billion gained from Formula 1 championships and endorsement deals.

“Yeah, same,” said Shetty.

“And you think ‘oh God, like how are we so lucky, so many of us, and knowing that, and not taking advantage of your every day, that’s so important.”

For his part, Shetty said he would make an international law requiring “emotional mastery” to be taught in schools. Their remarks on laws came after a conversation about how important is it to take time for yourself and not work so hard. Hamilton said he’s tried to “unclutter” his life and tried to “make it more simple.”

An example of this, he said, is surfing. “That’s why I love to go an surfing. That’s like the most tranquil thing I get to do. Just sit, and ponder about life, what I’m gonna do next. That’s my getaway. I think people need to find that balance of work, because if you just work work work work, and you don’t replenish yourself with positive things, then you’re just continuing to break yourself down.”

“I think that’s beautiful,” Shetty said. The episode aired three years ago.
