The battle over election integrity and conservative priorities in Washington is heating up as Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) revealed that a major update to the SAVE America Act is expected to hit the Senate floor this week, complete with a powerful amendment crafted in coordination with President Donald Trump.
The announcement signals a major escalation in the ongoing fight between America First lawmakers and the entrenched Washington establishment that has repeatedly obstructed conservative reforms.
In an explosive video statement, the Missouri senator teased his amendment, which builds on the core protections of citizenship proof and photo ID by targeting the Democrats’ favorite fraud tool: mass mail-in balloting.
Schmitt:
“Okay, some big news on the SAVE America Act. It is finally coming to the Senate floor this week. I’ve been working with President Trump in the White House and will be introducing a substitute amendment that would include not just proof of citizenship to vote and photo ID, but also getting rid of the mass mail-in balloting scam we’ve seen in too many places.The amendment would allow mail-in balloting only for the military, the elderly, people with disabilities, or those who are absent—reasonable situations like that. It would also ban transgender mutilation for kids and keep men out of women’s sports.
These are widely popular measures. I’ll be working with Senator Lee and many others in the Senate to get this done this week.”

It can be recalled that Senator Mike Lee said recent discussions with Thune and his staff have led to meaningful progress on how the bill could be debated and brought to a vote.
Lee confirmed the breakthrough in a new video clip: a HYBRID form of the talking filibuster is now set to be implemented.
Sen. Mike Lee: “Okay, important update on the Save America Act and the effort to get it passed. Look, I am guardedly optimistic. We’ve turned kind of a corner over the last few days.

What we’re coming up with is something that I think is best described as a hybrid version of the talking filibuster. But look, let’s not get mired down in nomenclature. What matters far more than what we call it is what we do with it.
We’re going to bring it to the floor. We’re going to debate it for an extended period of time before filing cloture. And in my view—at least, I don’t want to speak for anyone else—this bill needs to remain on the Senate floor before we file cloture for as long as it takes to get it done.
