Sintillating
It’s been over a year since word of a Divinity: Original Sin 2 PS5 version started to spread, and now it’s finally here.
Hot on the heels of Larian Studios’ big Divinity announcement at The Game Awards, the series’ most recent instalment is now available on Sony’s current-gen console, having already released for PS4 back in 2018.
The developer’s just kind of dropped this with very little in the way of fanfare, so we don’t yet know what improvements the PS5 version has. But hey, it’s a free upgrade for anyone who already owns Original Sin 2 on PS4.
If you enjoyed Baldur’s Gate 3 — easily Larian’s most popular work to date — then it’s worth checking the Divinity games out. Original Sin 2 may not be as glamorous (or quite as welcoming) as the Dungeons & Dragons adaptation, but it’s still a deeply engaging RPG that shares a lot of the same design DNA.

Robert (or Rob if you’re lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he’s played ’em all. A little too much, some might say.
