Order Robert Spencer’s new book, Holy Hell: Islam’s Abuse of Women and the Infidels Who Enable It: HERE.
It was a beautiful spring day in the brave new France, and so a couple of New Frenchmen decided to go into a bar. They did not, however, have cold beer, or this being France, a cool glass of white wine, on their minds.
The French-language publication Sud Ouest reported on Monday that “two brothers in their forties threatened to kill bar patrons in the name of Allah on Friday, April 10, in Mauléon-Licharre, in the Basque Country. They will be tried in June for violence and death threats, as the prosecution did not pursue a terrorist charge.” Celebrate diversity! Or as they put it in France these days, احتفوا بالتنوع!
As you might expect, however, not everyone had diversity at the very top of his mind when the scene in the bar unfolded. Up until the Muslim brothers entered, it had been a supremely pleasant evening: “On Friday, April 10, around 10:30 p.m., while about ten people were peacefully seated on the terrace of this lively bar in downtown Mauléon-Licharre, in the Basque Country, two heavily intoxicated individuals arrived.”
Those were the two Muslim brothers, who, despite having apparently imbibed the alcohol that Allah had forbidden, remembered their devotion to Allah long enough to start issuing threats, which “deeply affected the bar’s patrons and manager.”
It seems that “the situation quickly escalated between these two brothers, both in their forties, and some of the bar’s customers, before spiraling out of control. One of them grabbed a knife from a charcuterie board, making threats. Customers immediately took it from him. The two men, of Algerian origin, left and then returned with broken bottles, ready to fight. According to several witnesses, they then made death threats in the name of their God: ‘Allahu Akbar,’ ‘Allah is strong,’ and ‘Allah will kill,’ they reportedly said repeatedly.”
“Allah will kill” is an interesting thing for them to have said. If they had killed anyone, it would have been Allah doing the killing, for the Qur’an designates Muslims the executors of Allah’s wrath: “Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, and he will lay them low and give you victory over them, and he will heal the hearts of people who are believers, and he will remove the anger of their hearts.” (Qur’an 9:14-15)
And so there were the bar patrons in Mauléon-Licharre, enjoying an evening out and suddenly coming face to face with the wrath of Allah. It is no wonder, in light of that, that one eyewitness recounted that “it wasn’t just a simple fight.” Indeed. It was, in a small but unmistakable way, a jihad. The witness continued: “Everyone was scared. This kind of thing never happens in Mauléon. We were all shocked. Luckily, everyone rallied together and stood by each other to stop them.”
Yes, that’s good, but that business about “this kind of thing” never happening in Mauléon is going to look more and more quaint as time goes by. For “this kind of thing” is going to happen in Mauléon and all over France, as well as in other Western European countries, with increasing frequency. The open-door mass migration policies that leftist governments have foisted on their people will have an increasing effect of making the native populations less safe and less comfortable in their own homelands.
In this case, “about ten people then restrained them, pinning them to the ground, until the police arrived. They were arrested and taken into custody. No one was injured. A complaint for death threats and threats to commit a terrorist act has been filed with the Mauléon gendarmerie.” Then on Sunday, “the two individuals were brought before the Pau public prosecutor’s office.” The prosecutor, however, “confirmed that threats in the name of Allah had been made, but that this was not sufficient to constitute terrorist threats.”
One wonders what a poor jihadi would have to do in France in order to be considered a terrorist. If screaming “Allahu akbar” and threatening to kill non-Muslims won’t do the job, what will?
Sud Ouest concludes its report with a piquant detail: “The two brothers, known to the police, will be tried on June 15 before the Pau criminal court for violence and death threats. They have been placed under judicial supervision, one with a restraining order prohibiting him from leaving Mauléon, the other with a ban on entering the bar.”
“Known to police.” Those three words are a recurring feature of police reports about jihad activity in Europe, large-scale and small-scale. The perpetrators again and again are “known to police.” All the overwhelming infidel police can evidently do, however, is sit by and watch as the warriors of Allah pursue their jihads.
