Following a loss in his bid to become the next governor of Minnesota, MyPillow founder Mike Lindell hinted that there was some evidence of impropriety regarding the vote tally.
Now, he’s vowing to put his money where his mouth is.
As The Hill reported:
Lindell in a statement Wednesday cited multiple “irregularities” that he said were caught by his team during election night — including what were described as vote totals that moved backward during the reporting, unusual synchronized vote totals across all seven Republican candidates and counties reporting more votes than were cast — as the reasoning behind the audit.
He added the recount will include “designated observers stationed throughout the hand-counting process.”
“Even if this recount and audit does not overturn my election for governor of Minnesota,” Lindell said in the statement, “I believe this is the gateway to getting rid of these electronic voting machines.”
The announcement fueled some social media discussion:
Go Mike!!! You’ve always done the research and uncovered what doesn’t make sense. I fully support a paper ballot recount. The results will speak for themselves.

If he wants to pay for it why would anyone object? Does it really matter? They will cheat in November anyway. Plenty of evidence exists but nothing will change.

CBS News added this:
Lindell said the effort is grounded in a right Minnesota law affords to candidates to request a full hand count of ballots even outside the narrow margin that triggers a state-funded recount.
“One of the few good election laws Minnesota does have is that as a candidate, I have the right to completely audit and hand count every ballot in the state,” Lindell said in the announcement, adding that he intends to use that right “to the full extent of the law.”
Here’s some additional coverage:
🚨 QUESTIONS GROW OVER MINNESOTA’S PRIMARY RESULTS: NEGATIVE VOTES + VIRTUALLY UNCHANGED PERCENTAGES
With just 6.7% of the vote reported compared to 93.7%, the candidates’ percentages were virtually unchanged.
Then there’s this: reported vote totals actually went DOWN.… pic.twitter.com/OBZYP7JRxO
