Aug. 18 (UPI) — A North Carolina man won a $250,000 lottery prize after letting his lucky ring choose his scratch-off ticket for him.
Willow Spring resident Shyheem McNeil told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he visited the Sheetz on North Main Street in Fuquay-Varina when he felt the urge to play the lottery.
“Something told me to play,” McNeil said.
The player revealed his chose his ticket by hovering his hand over the tickets, and buying whichever one his lucky pinkie ring landed on.
The ticket, a 20X The Cash scratch-off, turned out to be a $250,000 winner.
“It was absolute excitement,” McNeil said.
McNeil said he plans to use some of his prize money to buy a Honda.
