WASHINGTON — Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has surged into a commanding lead among likely Democratic primary voters following the public unveiling of a prominent swastika tattoo on her right pectoral, just like Graham Platner, according to a new poll released Thursday.

The survey, conducted by the Progressive Institute for Forward Momentum, shows AOC with 42 percent support, more than double her nearest rival, California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Observers described the tattoo’s debut—revealed during a livestreamed town hall on economic justice, where she wore a strategically unbuttoned blouse—as a “defining moment” that has electrified the party’s base.

“I got this right here on my chest, just like Graham Platner, to honor my ancestors who fought against fascism in the most literal way possible,” Ocasio-Cortez explained to supporters, placing a hand over the fresh black ink.

“It’s a reminder that we must always punch Nazis—except when we’re reclaiming the symbols for the greater good. This is about healing and owning our power.”

Democratic strategists expressed cautious optimism.

“For years, the right has tried to smear us with these labels,” said one senior party operative who requested anonymity. “Alexandria just said, ‘Fine, hold my oat milk’ and put it right on the pectoral like Platner. The authenticity is off the charts. This isn’t pandering; it’s owning the discourse.”

Focus groups reportedly reacted with enthusiasm.

Participants praised the tattoo as “a bold stand against right-wing extremism” and “a powerful aesthetic choice that really pops under stage lights.”

Several respondents indicated they were previously undecided but now viewed AOC as “the only candidate brave enough to make the hard choices on symbolism and placement.”

Critics on the right called the development “concerning,” while mainstream outlets have largely framed the story around “the right’s predictable outrage machine.”

MSNBC’s Joy Reid described the tattoo as “a subversive reclamation of iconography in the tradition of punk rock, modern activism, and Graham Platner,” adding that any criticism was “rooted in white fragility and bad faith.”

AOC’s campaign moved quickly to capitalize on the momentum, launching new merchandise featuring stylized versions of the right pectoral tattoo alongside the slogan “Never Again… Means Something.”

Early fundraising hauls from the announcement reportedly exceeded $16 million in the first 24 hours, mostly in small-dollar donations accompanied by notes reading “Finally, a fighter.”

When asked if the tattoo’s prominent location might alienate moderate voters, campaign spokesperson Jamal Bowman dismissed the concern.

“Moderates are a myth invented by CNN. Our data shows that 76 percent of Gen Z believes all symbols and body placement are socially constructed anyway. This is how we win the future.”

As of press time, AOC was scheduled to appear at a Brooklyn rally titled “Chest Forward Against Hate,” where she plans to discuss additional body art.
