US forces disable oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman

US forces took out another oil tanker attempting to transport oil from Iran through the Gulf of Oman late on Wednesday night.

The tanker was flying a Guinea-Bissau flag and refused US commands after violating the US naval blockade, according to a statement from US Central Command. It’s the third commercial ship disabled this week amid the ongoing blockade.

Three Indian sailors were killed in the strike, according to CBS

The Indian External Affairs Ministry called the attacks “deeply worrisome” and called for an end to “the targeting of commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure in the region” on Wednesday.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal demanded that the US “take due note” after registering a “strong protest” with a senior US diplomat.

However, in the two weeks before the strike occurred, the same ship had received two different warnings from the US Navy, one of the deceased sailors reportedly told his grandfather.

Video from the strike shows the ship being hit by two Hellfire missiles after refusing to comply with US orders.

CENTCOM said in a statement:

U.S. forces disabled an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman at 11:20 p.m. ET on June 10 after the vessel violated the blockade against Iran by attempting to transport Iranian oil, marking the third commercial ship disabled by American forces this week.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) acted against Guinea-Bissau flagged M/T Jalveer as it attempted to transport oil from Iran through the Gulf of Oman. A U.S. aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles into the ship’s engine room after the crew repeatedly failed to comply with directions from U.S. forces.
Earlier this week, U.S. aircraft disabled Palau-flagged vessels M/T Marivex and M/T Settebello on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Marivex violated the blockade by attempting to sail to an Iranian port and Settebello attempted to transport Iranian oil.
CENTCOM forces have disabled nine non-compliant vessels, redirected 135 ships that complied, and allowed 42 vessels supporting humanitarian aid to pass since initiating the blockade on April 13.
The blockade is being enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, US Central Command announced that another oil tanker was disabled on Tuesday, marking the eighth non-compliant vessel that was stopped since the blockade began in April.

Meanwhile, President Trump announced on Wednesday that more than 100 million barrels of oil had passed through the Strait of Hormuz since he authorized a secret mission to support oil tankers. “The UNITED STATES of AMERICA CONTROLS the Strait of Hormuz — NOT Iran,” the President said, boasting the success of the US blockade.

This comes amid resumed fighting between the US and Iran, with the US launching multiple rounds of “self-defense” strikes against Iran on Wednesday in response to Iran shooting down a US Army helicopter on Monday.

Trump announced on Thursday that the US will hit Iran again “VERY HARD TONIGHT,” adding that he plans to seize Kharg Island, Iran’s oil export hub, “in the not too distant future,” and “assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela.”
