“El Salvador authorities charged Morales-Mejia with aggravated homicide and illicit associations in October 2013.”
ICE has arrested an accused killer and alleged MS-13 gang member from El Salvador in Woodbridge, Virginia. The suspect is wanted for murder in El Salvador.
Isabel Idalia Morales-Mejia faces charges for aggravated homicide and gang connections in her native country after Salvadoran officials alerted US authorities that she “may be hiding in Northern Virginia.”
ICE Washington, DC Field Office Director Robert Guadian noted that “the media would consider her to be a ‘non-criminal’ because she has no known criminal history in the United States — despite the fact that she is facing charges for aggravated homicide in El Salvador.”
“Illegal alien Isabel Idalia Morales-Mejia was arrested by ICE March 12 in Woodbridge after an El Salvador task force indicated she may be hiding in Northern Virginia. El Salvador authorities charged Morales-Mejia with aggravated homicide and illicit associations in October 2013. She’ll remain in custody pending a deportation decision before facing justice for her alleged crimes in her home country,” ICE said in a post to X.
Guadian added, “ICE Washington, D.C. will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing criminal alien offenders from our Washington, D.C. and Virginia communities.”
This arrest occurs amid rising migrant-related violence in Northern Virginia. Fairfax County has experienced multiple homicides this year where illegal immigrants have been charged. Additionally, an illegal immigrant adult who was attending Fairfax High School has been charged for groping teenage girls.
ICE confirmed Morales-Mejia’s March 12 arrest following intelligence from El Salvador’s fugitive task force. She illegally entered the US at an undetermined time and location without proper immigration processing.
She remains detained pending deportation proceedings and will eventually return to El Salvador, where she could face imprisonment at CECOT.
