As if Gavin Newsom’s catastrophic record as governor of California weren’t enough to sink his delusional run for the presidency, his shallow feminist wife Jennifer could prove to be the final nail in its coffin – in which case the Right should do everything in its power to keep her in the spotlight, because we shouldn’t take a Newsom loss for granted.
Jennifer Seibel Newsom, 51, is a former documentary filmmaker and long-standing advocate for the deconstruction of traditional gender roles. Among the films she has produced are Miss Representation (2011) and The Mask You Live In (2015). The former examines “the ways in which mainstream media and culture contribute to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence,” according to its website. It features commentary from such experts on masculinity as Cory “Spartacus” Booker, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Jane Fonda, Rachel Maddow, Rosie O’Donnell, and Gloria Steinem.
The Mask You Live In focuses on the false “masks” of manhood that boys and young men are purportedly pressured to wear in order to be considered real men. Masculinity is presented as emotionally repressive. “We’ve constructed an idea of masculinity in the United States that doesn’t give young boys a way to feel secure in their masculinity, some make them go prove it all the time,” declares Stony Brook University professor Michael Kimmel, a prominent male feminist, in the film. There is absolutely no discussion of traditional masculinity as a positive force; instead, it is viewed as “toxic,” a term Jennifer got Gavin to incorporate into his political lexicon.
“Masculinity is not organic,” claims Occidental University professor Caroline Heldman in the documentary. “It’s reactive. It’s not something that just develops. It’s a rejection of everything that is feminine… through our popular culture, through our parenting styles, through our educational style, and through assumptions of natural manhood and maleness.” In other words, femininity is the baseline nature of humanity, and masculinity exists only in opposition to it, like darkness exists only in opposition to light. Feminists consider it an unnatural, false social construction that is oppressive and damaging.
Jennifer Newsom’s subsequent film in 2019, The Great American Lie,
examines the roots of systemic inequalities through a unique gender lens… [and] exposes how this inequality is rooted in our beliefs with the cultural pendulum swinging too far towards revering things we consider “masculine,” like individualism, power, and money, at the expense of things we consider “feminine,” like empathy, care, and collaboration.
This is a perspective that Jennifer herself expressed in a recent interview clip making the rounds of social media, in which she admitted to indoctrinating the two sons she shares with Gavin (they also have two daughters) into seeing the world through the distortion of a feminist lens. After stating that she gives her sons dolls “even if they tear the head off” to teach them that “caregiving” is not just for women but is a shared “responsibility of men,” she proudly says, “If I’m reading a book and the protagonist is a male, I just change the ‘he’ to a ‘she’” so that her sons see “that women can be the center of a story, that women matter” – because there have never been any female protagonists in the history of literature, don’t ya know. What this is actually teaching her children is that it is men and boys who don’t matter.
Despite her decades in the public eye, some of it as Gavin’s “First Partner” (a label she predictably prefers to “First Lady”) he is only slightly less cringe-worthy as a public speaker than Kamala Harris. She goes on to say,
At the end of the day, we’re all kind of like, in this place, in history maybe, where we’re recognizing what it is to deconstruct all these gender roles and ultimately be human, and that’s exciting to me, so, you know, I’ll just continue to kind of do my work and try and deconstruct all of these limiting narratives…
Anyone who believes, after more than half a century of relentless feminist narratives, that women and girls are in any way oppressed in America today is living in a progressive Handmaid’s Tale fantasy. And anyone who believes that men need to be feminized to be whole and good is the one who is slinging limiting narratives.
In another recent video clip, Jennifer offers her followers her “thoughts on the patriarchy” regarding Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem. “I need to call out that it’s no surprise to me that the first two prominent people pushed out of this administration were women.” She excoriates a Trump administration that “systemically disrespects, devalues, and discriminates against women and girls,” and is trying to push them “back into this straitjacket of femininity that is only in the service of men.” She concludes that “no woman is safe in Trump’s Republican Party,” which she claims is waging “a war on all women.”
With this kind of obsessive focus on dismantling the nonexistent “patriarchy,” is it any wonder that her husband Gavin, for all his profane, tough-guy bluster online, is an eminently mockable beta male? This is what the Democrat Party does to its men, like Kamala Harris’ former running mate Tim Walz and her husband Doug Emhoff, both of whom were laughably promoted as icons of “21st century masculinity” by the Left-wing media. The Democrat Party has as a core part of its mission the emasculation of America because masculinity is the warrior spirit that protects families, defends communities, and builds and leads a great civilization, and it is the first and last line of defense against the State totalitarian control which the Left seeks to implement.
“The work I do really parallels and complements Gavin’s work,” Jennifer once told the fawning Los Angeles Times, “because it’s about awakening people’s consciousness, shifting hearts and minds, attitudes and behaviors.” In other words, the Newsoms’ work, just like the Left’s aim generally speaking, is cultural Marxism – the fundamentally transformation of a free, capitalist society into a social justice utopia. (As Governor, of course, Gavin’s work should be centered not on awakening people’s consciousness but on governing – something at which he is a total failure, having steered California into a Third World hellhole, which I fled like hundreds of thousands of other former residents there.)
“This woman might single-handedly destroy any chance Newsom has at becoming president,” former TV personality Kevin Steele wrote on Facebook. Hopefully. But imagine if this brain-dead progressive ideologue becomes “First Partner” of the United States. Her “partner” Gavin would do plenty of his own damage to the country, but activist Jennifer would work tirelessly to push woke gender policies and educational programs in schools that would marginalize and demonize boys even more than our feminized culture already has. As I have noted many times: an emasculated civilization is a doomed one. The Newsom partnership cannot be allowed anywhere near the reins of White House power.
