If you were hoping to pick up a copy of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 for the Switch, your only option now is the physical route, as the game has been delisted from all digital storefronts, Nintendo eShop included. While SEGA announced that the game has been delisted, no reason for the removal was given.
In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 you can join Mario, Sonic and friends for the ultimate sports party. Celebrate the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 with 30+ events to play! Skateboard, surf, and race your way to the top! With a variety of events to master in this fun-filled Olympic Games contest, there are plenty of ways to prove your skills.
Enjoy brand new events, including new classic 2D competition, motion and button controls, and local and online play! Play any way you want on your Nintendo Switch. We’re talking motion and button controls, single and dual Joy-Con, single-player and multiplayer, local split-screen and online!
As for the game’s online interactions, there’s no announcement on if/when they’ll be shut down, so it seems like those modes are safe for the time being. If/when those modes get taken offline, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Thanks to Naruki for the heads up!
