After weeks of speculation about whether President Trump would send boots on the ground in Iran, a new report has revealed what troops would actually be doing.
White House insiders have shared that President Trump is weighing the military operation of sending troops into Iran to seize 1,000 pounds of Uranium.
The report comes after U.S. CENTCOM confirmed 3,500 Marines and sailors have been deployed to the Middle East, where they stand ready for the Commander in Chief.

The Wall Street Journal broke the story and provided a more in-depth report:
President Trump is weighing a military operation to extract nearly 1,000 pounds of uranium from Iran, according to U.S. officials, a complex and risky mission that would likely put American forces inside the country for days or longer.
Trump hasn’t made a decision on whether to give the order, the officials said, adding that he is considering the danger to U.S. troops. But the president remains generally open to the idea, according to the officials, because it could help accomplish his central goal of preventing Iran from ever making a nuclear weapon. The president has also encouraged his advisers to press Iran to agree to surrender the material as a condition for ending the war, according to a person familiar with Trump’s thinking. Trump has been clear in conversations with political allies that the Iranians can’t keep the material, and he has discussed seizing it by force if Iran won’t give it up at the negotiating table.
Pakistan, Turkey and Egypt have acted as intermediaries between the U.S. and Iran. But Washington and Tehran haven’t yet engaged in direct negotiations to end the war.
“It’s the job of the Pentagon to make preparations in order to give the commander-in-chief maximum optionality. It does not mean the president has made a decision,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. The Pentagon didn’t comment and a spokesman for U.S. Central Command declined to comment.
Before Israel and the U.S. conducted a series of airstrikes on Iran in June last year, the country was believed to have more than 400 kilograms of 60% highly enriched uranium, and nearly 200 kilograms of 20% fissile material, which is easily converted into 90%-weapons-grade uranium.

Axios reported Trump is also considering sending an additional 10,000 troops to the Middle East:
The White House and the Pentagon are considering sending at least 10,000 additional combat troops to the Middle East in the coming days, according to a senior U.S. defense official.
If the Trump administration decides to send extra troops, it will significantly increase the number of combat soldiers the U.S. has in the region. It is another signal that a U.S. ground operation in Iran is being seriously prepared.
The massive surge in ground troops is being considered as President Trump says the U.S. is negotiating with Iran on a deal to end the war.
Iranian officials haven’t agreed yet to hold a high-level meeting with the U.S. and they are suspicious that the U.S. diplomatic push is another trick.
The U.S. defense official expects the decision to be made next week and said the troops will be from different combat units than the ones which have already been sent to the region.
