Liberal Tourism in Danger as Cuba Runs Out of Jet Fuel

The booming Cuba tourism that brought tens of thousands of American and Canadian liberals to Cuba where, if they were sufficiently famous they could meet with Fidel Castro (now somewhat more difficult) and if they weren’t, they could enjoy juicy bloody burgers, classic cars and sex with 9-year-old girls (Communist Cuba’s child sex tourism business in notorious) is now endangered by fuel shortages.

Cuban authorities have notified international airlines that they won’t be able to refuel at the island’s airports, as the country’s energy crisis deepens following President Donald Trump’s steps to cut the island’s oil supply in a push for negotiations. Cuban leaders said they haven’t received oil since December, when a U.S. armada blocked oil shipments from Venezuela bound for the island. Trump also recently signed an executive order to impose tariffs on Cuba’s oil suppliers, in a move to pressure Mexico to stop sending oil to the island.

When U.S. forces captured Venezuela’s dictator, he was surrounded by Cuban bodyguards. Cuban intelligence masterminded the takeover of Venezuela to steal its oil. Blocking Venezuela’s regime from trafficking the oil to their bosses in Havana is like intercepting mob shipments of currency.

A representative of a charter flight company in Miami, who asked not be named to discuss the company’s internal deliberations, said the company was assessing whether to reduce passenger and baggage loads on flights, so the planes could return from Havana without refueling. The company was not yet considering suspending flights, the representative added.

Air Canada, a major carrier of Canadian tourists, said that effective Monday it is suspending its service to Cuba due to the ongoing shortage of aviation fuel. The airline said it would operate “empty flights southbound” to pick up approximately 3,000 Canadians that are currently on the island. Air Europa said it would add a stop on the Dominican Republic to refuel on its Madrid-Havana route.

Or they could just stay in Cuba and experience the wonders of Communism for themselves.

“We are closely monitoring the situation,” American Airlines, which operates 11 daily flights to six destinations in Cuba, said. The airline did not say whether it was expecting cancellations.

On Friday, Cuba’s vice prime minister, Oscar Pérez Oliva-Fraga, said the government is planning to “compact” tourists into a smaller number of hotels as part of an austerity plan that includes severe restrictions on public transportation — especially between provinces — a four-day work schedule for state workers, reduced school hours and the suspension of non-emergency surgeries.

Being compacted should be educational for liberal tourists. They can enjoy a taste of actual Communism. Perhaps that will be followed by four days of electricity.

Russia said on Monday the fuel situation in Cuba was critical and U.S. attempts to “suffocate” the island’s economy were causing many difficulties, pledging to act against any sort of military intervention and expressing Moscow’s solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela.

I’m sure the Tucker Carlson interview with Castro, some Castro, living or dead, explaining that Communist Cuba is actually conservative and just being punished for opposing Israel is coming soon.

“The situation in Cuba is indeed critical. We are aware of this. We are maintaining intensive contacts ‍with our Cuban friends through diplomatic and other channels,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Russia’s ambassador to Cuba, Viktor Coronelli, told the state RIA news agency last week that Moscow had repeatedly supplied oil ‌to Cuba in recent years, and would continue to do so.

The more they drain their resources shipping fuel to Cuba, the better, but I suspect Putin only values Cuba so much.

But at least the liberal media, angry that it can’t enjoy Communism and rape little girls anymore, has the mature take on it.

Isn’t that awesome?
