Feb. 3 (UPI) — A Maryland man coming off an overnight work shift used $10 in lottery winnings to buy another ticket — and scored a $100,000 prize.

The Edgewood man told Maryland Lottery officials he had just finished his overnight shift as a retail manager when he cashed in a $10 prize from a Fast Play ticket at the Amoco BP gas station on Pulaski Highway in Edgewood.

He used his winnings to by a $10 $100,000 Crossword scratch-off ticket, and started scratching it off while sitting down to breakfast.

The ticket turned out to be a $100,000 top prize winner.

The winner said he plans to put his prize money in the bank.
