Jan. 29 (UPI) — A semitrailer crash on a Wisconsin highway resulted in the roadway being littered with kegs of beer for several hours.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said the truck left the road on northbound U.S. Highway 151 about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, struck a guardrail and overturned, blocking both northbound lanes and littering the road with kegs of New Glarus beer.

A spokesperson for the brewing company said the truck had been carrying 264 half-barrel kegs destined for distributors.

The roadway was closed between the State Highway 26 off-ramp and on-ramp for several hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage and gather up the kegs, which are being returned to New Glarus.

Officials said three vehicles were damaged in the crash and one person sustained minor injuries.
