Jan. 27 (UPI) — An Ohio woman received a bouquet of scratch-off lottery tickets as a birthday gift from her best friend and scored a $20,000 prize.
The Canton resident, identified only as Wendy, told Ohio Lottery officials her best friend, Carrie, presented her with a bouquet of 60 Ohio Lottery scratch-off tickets at her birthday party.
Wendy said one of the tickets she scratched off at home later, a $2 Cash Explosion Cashword, turned out to be a $20,000 winner.
“Wendy said that it was already the best birthday ever thanks to the party,” lottery officials wrote in a news release. “But the dramatic win on her last scratch-off made it even better.”
Wendy said she is now planning to use her prize money to pay off her credit cards and take Carrie on a girls’ trip.
