The Washington Post exclusively reported that a person connected to the shooting has been identified as a 24-year-old named Benjamin Erickson.

Authorities have only named Erickson as a person of interest, not a suspect, at this time.

According to NBC News, law enforcement officials are looking into Erickson’s “extensive mental health history.”

Erickson is originally from Wisconsin and traveled to Rhode Island.

Earlier today, a suspect was taken into custody following the shooting at the university. He was apprehended at a Hampton Inn in Coventry at 3:45 A.M.

A revolver and a small Glock handgun were recovered at the hotel.

According to NBC News, the man had a unique characteristic on his firearm and that firearm was found when he was taken into custody.

The shooter also “yelled something” before carrying out his horrific act of violence. Some eyewitnesses alleged the remark was in Arabic.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, multiple people were shot at Brown University in Rhode Island on the second day of final exams on Saturday.

Two people were killed, and at least nine others were injured in the mass shooting. The attack originated in Jewish Professor Rachel Friedberg’s classroom.

A shelter-in-place directive remained in effect for the greater Brown University area several hours after the shooter committed his act of terrorism.

Students finally evacuated from Brown University at 8:45 pm ET on Saturday.

Police later released images of the person they say gunned down the students in cold blood.

The footage appears to be from a cell phone camera, showing the suspect calmly walking away from the scene of the crime. It’s impossible to make out any facial features that could identify the person.

There was not much to go on.

After initially claiming a suspect was taken into custody, Brown University corrected its statement to confirm that the shooter is still at large.
