IO Interactive‘s Bond origin game 007 First Light has already reached an impressive milestone.
In just 24 hours, 007 First Light has sold over 1.5m copies across platforms. That’s PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. “Thank you for showing up to the launch of 007 First Light, for your overwhelming enthusiasm and for sharing your experience with the game,” the team wrote, sharing the news.
While it is currently unclear which platform 007 First Light has been most popular on, the game has reached a peak concurrent player count of 68,477 on Steam, with 32,511 Bonds currently playing.
007 First Light is the first James Bond game in over a decade, and places players into the shoes of Patrick Gibson’s inexperienced and somewhat reckless agent. It mixes stealth and deduction based sections, similar to those seen in IOI’s Hitman series, with more action focused sequences. Oh, and this is a Bond game, so of course there are driving sections as well (I would like to apologise for all the scuffs I have given the Aston Martin already).
