Watch: Man runs half marathon while wearing 137 T-shirts

Dec. 1 (UPI) — A serial Guinness World Record-breaker took on a half marathon in Idaho while wearing 137 T-shirts — 48 pounds of shirts.

David “Record Breaker” Rush, who holds the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles, originally set the record for the most T-shirts worn during a half marathon at 111 in 2019.

Rush lost his record a few years later by a runner wearing 127 shirts.

The serial record-breaker said he started training to take on the title again, running in heavy clothes and wearing weighted backpacks.

He attempted the record at the Famous Idaho Potato Half Marathon, but had to call it off when he reached 114 T-shirts and started to lose circulation in his neck.

Rush returned to the same marathon this year, and this time managed to finish the race while wearing 137 shirts.

“After years of effort and one spectacular failed attempt, I finally reclaimed the Guinness World Records title so I’m so glad I didn’t give up,” Rush wrote. “It was a mix of determination, creativity, endurance and a lot of T-shirts.”
