Feb. 2 (UPI) — Serial Guinness World Record-breaker David Rush balanced a ladder on his chin for 19 minutes and 11 seconds to recapture one of his earliest titles.
Rush, who holds the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles, initially set the record for the longest duration balancing a ladder on the chin in 2016, with a time of 5 minutes and 31 seconds. It marked his 10th Guinness World Records title.
He broke the record again in 2018 with a time of 11 minutes, but the title was later taken by someone else with a time of nearly 18 minutes.
Rush has now retaken the record with a time of 18 minutes and 11 seconds.
“Ironically, the stopwatch used had a slight error, and the true time should have read 19 minutes and 13 seconds. Because of that, I technically lost two seconds on paper,” Rush wrote online.
He said the record is one of the most painful to train for and attempt.
“If I increase the weight or duration too aggressively, I risk straining my lower back and being forced to take weeks or even months off. This record demands patience, progression and respect,” he wrote.
