Watch: Ceiling collapse caught on camera at Oklahoma hotel

Jan. 27 (UPI) — Guests at an Oklahoma hotel captured video when water started pouring into a dining area, causing the ceiling to collapse.

Rachel Burrow said she was staying at the Embassy Suites in Norman with her family when the water started rushing in during breakfast.

“The lights start to flood down and I’m like oh my gosh I’m like, ‘Tony, you need to move, and we all just scatter,'” Burrow told KTUL-TV. “If we wouldn’t have moved, we would’ve been drenched.”

No injuries were reported from the flooding or subsequent ceiling collapse.

Guests hypothesized the flood was caused by plumbing issues brought on by extremely cold temperatures, but the hotel has not yet confirmed what caused the incident.

“I’m sure it was the fire suppression line that was frozen, and I don’t know if that had to do with the drinks being frozen up or that area being cold, but it was a little craziness,” Burrow said.
