The Washington state city council that recently appointed a transgender OnlyFans adult content creator with a cannibalism fetish to fill a vacant seat will be convening on Thursday to reconsider their selection. Lynnwood City Council President Nick Coelho claimed that council members were unaware of Jessica Ann Roberts’ controversial sex work history when they unanimously appointed her to fill the vacancy. Had the council known of Roberts’ background, Coehlo said, councilors may have voted differently.
Roberts, 32, born Neil Vincent Roberts, was appointed to the city council on Monday in a 6-6 vote to fill the vacant seat for position 5. Just hours after Roberts’ appointment was announced, an expose revealed that he was an OnlyFans adult content creator who had posted publicly on several occasions about his “uncontrollable” desires to impregnate women and eat them. Roberts, who identifies as a woman, has also shared sexually explicit photographs to social media sites promoting his OnlyFans account.
The findings first reported by the Lynnwood Times sparked significant backlash, prompting the Lynnwood City Council to call a Special Business scheduled for March 13 at 7 pm to discuss the matter.
On Tuesday evening, Council President Coehlo issued the following statement: “New information has come to light about a candidate chosen by our appointment process. While the process has worked fairly well in the past, there is always the potential for edge cases.”
“It’s important for our residents to know that we have only three pieces of information to use as considerations for appointments: a brief civic questionnaire, a resume, and an interview in our Council Chambers,” he continued. “There are now concerns that very relevant information to our deliberation was – whether intentionally or unintentionally – withheld that would have weighed heavily on our decision. With this new information in mind, we have noticed a Special Business Meeting for this Thursday. Its aim is to build to a consensus on whether or not we wish to move forward with this applicant.”
In addition to sex work, Roberts is currently employed as a customer service representative for a local plumbing company. Lynnwood City Council was initially tied 3-3 in voting for Roberts or challenger Robert Leutwyler, an Army combat veteran and Amazon program manager, to fill position 5. Following multiple executive sessions, the council unanimously approved Roberts to the seat. The council members who were most adamant about selecting Roberts, all of whom are progressive Democrats, were David Parshall, Derica Escamilla, and Josh Binda, a controversial councilor who faced a recall effort in 2023.

Roberts defended sex work when pressed for comment, suggesting that individuals in the sex industry should have a seat at the table. He also deleted his OnlyFans account following the expose.
“Sex workers live, work, and pay taxes in their municipalities, counties, state, and federal government, while also contributing to their communities every day in ways not related to their work,” said Roberts. “They absolutely deserve the opportunity to represent their communities just as much as anyone who works in any other jobs across our city.”
