It comes after an incident in South Yardley, Birmingham, in September 2019.

A man was threatened with a firearm, but was able to escape when the weapon jammed.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Tonight we are charging a woman with conspiracy to murder a man in Birmingham in 2019, after she was extradited from Armenia.

“US citizen Aimee Betro, aged 45, was flown into Gatwick Airport on Thursday afternoon by specialist National Extradition Unit officers from the National Crime Agency’s (NCA) Joint International Crime Centre (JICC).

“Last year, two men were jailed for conspiracy to murder after being convicted at trial.

“We have been working with the Crown Prosecution Service, Derbyshire Constabulary and the NCA to extradite Betro since her arrest.”
