Deals with terrorists never get better. They only get worse.
That’s been the story in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Syria and, above all else in Israel, where we’ve been making deals with terrorists going back to the Clinton administration with universally disastrous results.
The latest developments from the non-ceasefire continue to confirm my reporting and predictions. Now the ‘gun buyback’ program described in the original ‘peace plan’ has been confirmed.
In October, I predicted that, “Hamas will hand over its weapons to itself as part of the “buy back and reintegration program” described in the peace plan. And we’ll get to pay Hamas to turn over its weapons to itself.”
Here’s confirmation that the gun buy back program is meant to go forward.
The demilitarization of Gaza will include decommissioning weapons through an agreed process “supported by an internationally funded buyback” program, the United States told the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday.
“International, independent monitors will supervise a process of demilitarization of Gaza to include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning and supported by an internationally funded buyback and reintegration program,” he added.
Walz is using the same language as in the ‘peace plan’.
But what’s that “reintegration” program? Reintegration means the weapons will be used. Who are they going to be used by? The new ‘army’ of the new ‘Palestinian state’ that will run Gaza. Hamas would like to be included in that ‘army’ as I discussed yesterday.
In a letter to staff on Sunday, seen by Reuters, Gaza’s Hamas-run government urged its more than 40,000 civil servants and security personnel to cooperate with the NCAG but assured them it was working to incorporate them into the new government. That would include the roughly 10,000-strong Hamas-run police force, four sources familiar with the matter said, a demand that has not been previously reported. Many of them have been patrolling Gaza as Hamas reasserts its grip in areas under its control.
That means the Hamas terrorists will just change uniforms. Again, as I predicted 4 months ago.
We’ve already been hearing that elements running the show on the administration side, likely Witkoff and his Qatari assets, are going along with this.
The sources also added that the United States agreed to include several former Hamas police officers and officials in the management of “New Gaza,” provided they undergo Israeli and American security screenings.
An anonymous “U.S. official” has said that Hamas will get amnesty.
The United States believes disarmament by Hamas militants in Gaza comes along with some sort of amnesty for the Palestinian group, a U.S. official said on Monday.
The official, speaking to reporters on condition of anonymity, spoke to mark the return of the remains of the last Israeli hostage held by Hamas. Israel and the United States are pressuring Hamas to disarm as part of a plan in which Gaza will be redeveloped.
Hamas won’t disarm except as a bureaucratic sleight of hand. Some weapons will be ‘turned over’ and then easily replaced. Hamas will just become the new government under another name while we build them 180 skyscrapers to enjoy.
A “coastal tourism” zone would run along the seafront — long enough for up to 180 skyscrapers, many likely earmarked as hotels. Kushner highlighted two urban developments, which he referred to as New Rafah and New Gaza.
As I’ve been saying from Day 1, this plan is a disaster that we need to exit as rapidly as possible before we end up in the middle of Iraq 2 and Afghanistan 2. We’re back to propping up Islamic terrorists in Gaza and Syria. That’s bad for the region, it’s going to be bad for us too.
