In the wake of a horrific terrorist shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach that left 16 dead, including at least one child, a chilling video from February 2024 has gone viral, showing Islamic preacher Wissam Haddad openly glorifying violent jihad as the pinnacle of Islamic duty.
Islamic scholar in Sydney, Australia:
“Jihad is definitely part of our religion. Allah prefers and rewards Muslims who directly fight our infidel enemies more than those who do nothing.”

In this one video, Haddad openly states, “We can’t take away from the fact, first and foremost that jihad is definitely part of our deen. And as Muslims we should never ever shy away from this. And yes there may be types of jihad but at the peak of this jihad is what the messenger Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wasalam spoke about. I’ll read the hadith soon. And that is fighting in the path of Allah azawajal. A physical fight. Not a fighting of the nafs. Although your nafs is needed in order for you physical to go out in the path of Allah. So we’re not talking about the struggle of the nafs. We’re talking about physical struggling against the enemies of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala in order to make the word of Allah azawajal the highest.”
He then quotes from the Quran to hammer home his point:
“Not equal are those believers remaining at home other than [the disabled] and [those] who strive in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred the mujahideen through their wealth and their lives over those who remain [behind], by degrees. And to both Allah has promised the best [reward]. But Allah has preferred the mujahideen over those who remain [behind] with a great reward.”
Haddad wraps it up by emphasizing divine favoritism for ‘fighters’:
“So here Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is telling us who he prefers. And prefers those who go out and fight in his path. And he prefers them over those who sit idle. So their rank with Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is greater than us who are sitting idle or in that case anyone who is sitting idle. Their status of Allah Subhana Wa Ta-Ala is different than those who are sitting although there is also good in those who are sitting. Each of them has [good], but He has preferred them above those who sit.”
These aren’t metaphors or spiritual musings—they’re explicit endorsements of physical combat against “enemies,” rewarding those who wage war over those who stay passive.
Preached just 14 miles from Bondi Beach, it’s a stark reminder of how radical teachings have infiltrated suburbs swollen by unchecked migration.
This isn’t some fringe rant, it’s part of a broader trend that has spurred outrage over unchecked radicalism in Australia’s immigrant communities.
Haddad’s words lay bare the dangerous ideology simmering under the surface of open-border policies that have allowed extremism to fester.
The attack unfolded Saturday when a father and son from Pakistani-origin, residing in Bonnyrigg, opened fire on a Hanukkah celebration with licensed guns.
Police quickly labeled it anti-Semitic terrorism. One gunman was killed, the other critically wounded. No direct link to Haddad has been established, yet officials admit ongoing monitoring of extremists has failed to prevent such bloodshed.
Haddad has faced court rulings for inciting hatred, including calls to “kill Jews” and associations with ISIS networks. Yet, here he is, preaching unfiltered jihad to impressionable audiences in Sydney. This is the rotten fruit of globalist immigration agendas that prioritize diversity over security, turning Western cities into powder kegs.
Haddad’s history is a red flag parade. As reported in recent ABC investigations, he’s been pegged by former ASIO spies as Sydney’s top jihadist preacher, with ties to terrorist recruitment networks. His organization was stripped of charity status earlier this year after exposés revealed exploitation of protests and youth radicalization efforts.
Court documents from vilification cases paint him as a serial hate-monger, yet Australian laws—softened by leftist tolerance policies—have let him slide.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s vows for “stronger anti-hate steps” ring hollow when preachers like this operate freely, linked to past vilification cases and pro-ISIS sympathies.
If leaders won’t act, more innocent lives will be lost to the same failed policies.
