The corrupt Washington Swamp is in full-blown PANIC mode!
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has just dropped a legislative MOAB on the Capitol, moving to FORCE a vote that could expose the darkest, dirtiest secrets of the Washington elite.
Mace, a fierce survivor of sexual assault herself, dropped H.Res. 1072 on Tuesday, demanding the House Ethics Committee preserve and publicly release ALL reports, drafts, conclusions, and materials from investigations into sexual harassment or improper relationships between members and staff, with victim info redacted.
According to the press release:
“The resolution directs the Committee on Ethics to preserve all documents and investigative materials related to violations or alleged violations of sexual harassment rules under clause 9 and clause 18 of rule XXIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives. The Committee would be required to publicly release all reports, conclusions, draft reports, recommendations, and accompanying materials within 60 days of adoption. Personally identifiable information of victims or alleged victims would be redacted to protect their privacy.”
This move comes hot on the heels of the disgusting scandal engulfing Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), who’s accused of sending sexually explicit texts to a former female aide who tragically took her own life.
Gonzales denies an affair, whining about “blackmail” and “political attacks,” but the nonpartisan Office of Congressional Workplace Rights is wrapping up its review and sending findings to Ethics any day now, just in time for his March 3 primary.
“If you sexually harass someone in Congress you do not get to hide behind closed doors. Tony Gonzales showed us what is happening in Congress. But he is not the only one,” said Congresswoman Mace.
“The American people deserve answers. Staff deserve answers. Women deserve answers. No more protection for predators in Congress. We are going to shine a light on every single one of them,” she added.
Mace is set to file this as a “privileged” resolution on March 4, forcing House leadership to schedule a vote within two legislative days. That means every slimy member will have to go on record, vote to expose the truth or vote to cover it up. The House could pass it, table it, or bury it in committee, but the drama is guaranteed.
Rep Nancy Mace wants to release the names of all members of Congress who have used the sexual harassment slush fund.
I think we deserve to know the names of the deviants.
We pay their salaries and they supposedly work for us.
Release the names! pic.twitter.com/zrqWtKWDmX

But with the GOP’s razor-thin majority and other representatives like Reps. Lauren Boebert and Anna Paulina Luna are backing Mace’s call for accountability.
I support this and will be fully backing @RepNancyMace . The AMERICAN PEOPLE deserve to see the rot in their house! https://t.co/uMdjmkN3yH

Boebert: I support releasing the congressional hush money slush fund. Tens of millions of dollars have been paid out over the years here in Congress to keep staffers quiet about alleged sexual misconduct.
