The Twin Lance
Unlike the superstitious Imperium, the T’au Empire will happily develop new technology. Thankfully, the shields and shardstorm burst systems created by the Earth Caste engineers are perfect for the aggressive nature of Sunsear and Scatterflare. Melt through thick armour with the former’s fusion blaster and take out elite infantry with the latter’s ion scattercannon. Take the fight up close and personal, and show your axe-swinging opponents how close combat should be done.
Berehk Stornbröw
Where Buri Aegnirssen specialises in hunting Tyranids, Berehk Stornbröw is the bane of the Orks. He’s armed with Kromlôk’s Revenge, a devastating pick-hammer – the hammer end can be used to smash vehicles and monsters, while sweeps of the pick end will leave plenty of dead Boyz behind. He’s ideal for leading a unit of Cthonian Beserks into battle, and don’t forget to grab a pot of Ork Flesh to paint that head Berehk has claimed as a trophy.
Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip
The Hive Mind has been hard at work developing new ways to claim biomass. Where the Tyranid Prime uses its wings to swoop down on prey, the Prime with a lash whip marches into battle alongside its Hormagaunts, Termagants, and Tyranid Warriors. Armed with its eponymous lash whip, a rending claw, and a pair of scything talons, the Prime excels in close combat, leaving nothing behind except corpses to be claimed by the Rippers.
Prince Yriel
The High Admiral of the Iyanden fleet and pirate lord of the Eldritch Raiders is back with a characterful new miniature. Where your regular pirates might have an eye patch, Yriel has a bionic peeper – the Eye of Wrath, which works as both a lethal close-ranged weapon and fashion accessory. He also carries the cursed Spear of Twilight, one of the legendary Croneswords of Aeldari legend, and a potent melee weapon.
Kharseth
Who needs a map or other navigational tools on their pirate ship when they have a Void Dreamer? Kharseth is an expert at ensuring the Corsairs arrive at the right place at the right time – they know exactly where all the ’x’s mark the spots. Kharseth can fill their enemies with a dread of the deep void thanks to their psychic powers, and their waystave is especially good at killing enemy infantry.
Corsair Skyreavers
Even pirates need shock troops, and for the Anhrathe, that role is fulfilled by the Skyreavers. They excel at swift hit-and-run attacks, and their vicious Corsair blades will make even Space Marines think twice. The kit includes a shredder, blaster, fusion gun, and a flamer to give the unit a bit more punch at range, and one can be built as an optional Felarch. There are five interchangeable winged backpacks, and 15 interchangeable heads, including helmets and bare heads (and a suitably piratical eye patch), so no two units need to look the same.
Vyper
The Vyper is one of the classic Warhammer miniatures – and after decades of service, it’s getting a glow-up. The new Vyper keeps the same classic stylings and features a swivelling turret. It’s armed with an underslung missile launcher or shuriken cannon, and a turret-mounted bright lance, scatter laser, or starcannon – giving you the right weapons to take on any enemy.
The Vyper can alternatively be assembled as a Starfang – a skimmer used by the Corsairs. Armed with a disintegrator cannon and an underslung grenade launcher, it offers new tactical options for your piratical raids.
Whichever version you build, you’ll have the speed to get your heavy weapons exactly where you need them to change the course of any battle.
Corsair Voidreavers
To round out the Corsair force, the Voidreavers are making a return. They can each be armed with a shuriken pistol and power sword for a more aggressive unit or a shuriken rifle for objective-sitting and gunning down enemy troops with well-placed volleys of fire. The kit can also be assembled as veteran Voidscarred – a unit of skilled piratical raiders. With lots of weapon and equipment options, and interchangeable parts, it’s easy to customise both your Voidreavers and Voidscarred.
Red Corsairs Reave-Captain
While Corsairs are often Aeldari who leave the craftworlds to find themselves, the Red Corsairs of the Chaos Space Marines are far more bitter and twisted. They are led by Reave-Captains, renegade warlords who follow Huron Blackheart.
The Reave-Captain has a choice of three different heads, two backpack toppers, two bandoliers, and can be armed with a power sword or power maul, and a plasma pistol or a (no doubt stolen) trinket, making it easy to customise your leader.
Red Corsairs Raiders
A captain needs a loyal crew, or in the case of the ne’er-do-wells and traitors of the Red Corsairs, loyal-ish. The Raiders make an ideal core to any Red Corsairs force, and the miniatures are easy to customise. The kit includes interchangeable heads, shoulder pads, bolters, bolt pistols, and close combat weapons. One can be built as an optional champion, there are narrative poses, a meltagun, and a power fist, all of which make it easy to put together different-looking infantry as your fleet grows.
Red Corsairs Upgrades and Transfers
You can also press-gang other Chaos Space Marines to join your crew. These upgrades can be used with the Chaos Terminator Squad and Legionaries kits to give them some Red Corsairs flavour. The transfer sheet includes 248 high-quality waterslide transfers to further decorate your raiding parties. Take a look at what can be done with these upgrades and get inspired to paint all your Red Corsairs.
Red Corsairs and Aeldari Corsairs Dice
As any pirate knows, you need a little bit of luck to stay one step ahead of the law. Thankfully, the Aeldari Corsairs and Red Corsairs are both getting their own dice set. They each feature the faction icon in place of the ‘6’, and as we’ve proven in the past, faction-specific dice do roll better.
Combat Patrol: Aeldari Corsairs
If you’re looking for an easy way to start a new Aeldari Corsairs army, this Combat Patrol is ideal. Kharseth leads a force of 10 Voidreavers (who can alternatively be built as Voidscarred), five Skyreavers, and a Wave Serpent (which can alternatively be built as a Falcon). With the troops in the transport supported by the airborne Skyreavers, this is a seriously fast force.
Combat Patrol: Red Corsairs
If the Aeldari Corsairs don’t get you, the Red Corsairs probably will. Their new Combat Patrol is led by a Reave-Captain who is accompanied into battle by five Raiders. A Chaos Rhino gets them where they need to go, and a bestial unit of Fellgor Ravagers claims any lightly defended objectives. This is a brutal fighting force that will reward aggressive play.
Combat Patrol: Night Lords
Prefer horror and mortal terror to nihilism? Spread fear across the galaxy with the Night Lords. A Nemesis Claw kill team rides to war in a Chaos Rhino while a squad of Chosen use the best weaponry to gun down enemies or flay them in close combat. While this happens, a Chaos Lord with Jump Pack waits in the shadows for the perfect time to strike. The parts from the Nemesis Claw frame can also be used to give your Chosen more of a Night Lords look, so your entire Combat Patrol appears suitably horrific.
Combat Patrol: Kroot
Get ready to hunt! A Kroot Lone-spear leads three Krootox Rampagers in the charge, and a Krootox Rider provides mobile ranged support. A Farstalker Kinband follows, mopping up any surviving enemy units.
Each of these four Combat Patrols will save you money compared to buying the kits individually, and they will have free rules to download from right here, on the Warhammer Community website.
A range of classic miniatures for the Middle-earth™ Strategy Battle Game return next week, bringing back some classic characters and locations from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™ in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the movie. The Attack at Weathertop kit features Strider, and the four Hobbits taking on the Witch-king of Angmar and four of his Ringwraiths. The Fellowship of the Ring set features the nine classic miniatures as they were when they set out on their quest from Rivendell.
