Samsung rolling out AirDrop over Quick Share on Galaxy S26, more devices coming – 9to5Google

Samsung has officially confirmed plans to start rolling out AirDrop support over Quick Share starting with the Galaxy S26 series this week.

Starting tomorrow, March 23, Samsung will be rolling out AirDrop over Quick Share support on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. This feature first debuted on Google Pixel 10 devices in late 2025, expanding to the Pixel 9 series in recent weeks.

Samsung explained in a note shared with 9to5Google and others that the rollout begins on March 23 in Korea, with the US rollout beginning “later that week.” Other supported regions will include Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.

“Additional Galaxy devices” will get AirDrop over Quick Share support later on, but there’s no specific timeline.

Importantly, and unlike Pixel, AirDrop support on Samsung Galaxy is not enabled by default. Rather, there’s a separate setting found under Quick Share settings to “Share with Apple devices.” On that page, Samsung explains that Galaxy users need to tell iPhone users to ensure “Everyone” mode is enabled, with the same needed on the Galaxy device if files are being sent in the opposite direction.

It sounds as though Google’s implementation of AirDrop support over Quick Share could expand even further in the Android ecosystem soon, as Oppo also recently said that its devices would add support before the end of this month.
