Feb. 20 (UPI) — An Ohio man accidentally bought a ticket for the wrong lottery drawing — and ended up winning a $50,000 prize.

The Malaga resident, identified as Ron, told Ohio Lottery officials his brother-in-law inspired him to buy a Mega Millions ticket at the Walmart Supercenter on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville.

Ron said it wasn’t until he scanned the ticket and asked a clerk to look at it that he realized he had mistakenly bought a ticket for the Feb. 5 evening Pick 5 drawing instead of Mega Millions.

His ticket, bearing the numbers 3-0-9-5-7, turned out to be a $50,000 winner.

Ron said some of his winnings will go toward donating to his church and spoiling his grandchildren.
