March 24 (UPI) — Authorities in Ohio urged residents to use caution when an escaped ostrich was spotted running loose near a pair of roads.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said on social media that the ostrich was seen Monday in the area of Lafayette Plain City Road and Taylor Blair Road in Monroe Township.

Drivers were urged to use caution in the area to prevent injuries to humans and giant birds alike.

The sheriff’s office later updated the post to report the ostrich had been safely captured and returned to its owner.
