Well, this is odd: Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in Korea today, and it’s not the One UI 7 beta update that’s supposed to start rolling out to Samsung’s two 2024 foldables today.
Instead, Samsung has released a regular security update to its current flagship foldable phone.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 gets March 2025 security update in South Korea
The new update comes with firmware version F956NKSS2AYBD and has a download size of 436.81MB. It brings the March 2025 security patch to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Korea is the first country to get it. The update fixes dozens of security flaws discovered in the previous software.
You can see the update’s changelog in the screenshot below.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 users who are living in South Korea can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, it will start installing and the phone will restart after your confirmation.
It is likely that the March 2025 security update is necessary before the One UI 7.0 beta update can be installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. So, if you want to try out the beta version of One UI 7.0, make sure to install the new security update.
