Dec. 11 (UPI) — A Maryland woman’s strategy of sticking with the Maryland Lottery‘s most recently-released scratch-off tickets earned her a $100,000 prize.
The Prince George‘s County woman told Maryland Lottery officials her strategy is to always buy the most recently-released scratch-offs she can find.
That technique led to her buying three $10 game Red 5’s Doubler games from the Harbor Market store in Oxon Hill on Saturday, one day after the new game released.
The player said she was hanging holiday decorations later in the day when she remembered her tickets and took a break to scratch them off.
One of the tickets turned out to be a $100,000 winner.
The winner said her prize money will go toward remodeling her home and saving for retirement.
