Look: Escaped pig breaks into N.C. home in search of snacks

Feb. 18 (UPI) — Authorities in North Carolina entered a resident’s home to apprehend an unusual “bacon and entering suspect” — a trespassing pig in search of snacks.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said on social media that deputies responded Monday to an Ellenboro-area home on a report of a trespassing pig inside of the house.

“The unexpected guest showed zero fear, maximum confidence, and the motive seemed to be finding snacks,” the post said.

Deputies used a pack of crackers to lure the pig out of the home, where it was taken into custody and turned over to Rutherford County Animal Control Services.

The sheriff’s office said the “bacon and entering suspect” was later identified as an escaped pet named Penelope, and “will soon be released back home with no court date required.”
