Jan. 20 (UPI) — An escaped pet parakeet was reunited with her owner after making a stop in an Ontario kindergarten classroom and landing on a little girl’s head.
St. Noel Chabanel Catholic School in Wasaga Beach said on social media that the female parakeet found her way into a kindergarten classroom and landed on one girl’s head twice before being contained by the teacher.
The parakeet was taken to the school’s office, where she was given a temporary home while officials attempted to find her owners.
The bird, dubbed Stormy by the school, was eventually identified as an escaped pet named Snow.
“We had so much fun spending time with Snow during her stay at our school,” officials wrote. “From classroom visits to office hangouts, we loved every minute with her. While we are definitely sad to see her go, our hearts are full knowing she’s back with her family where she belongs.”
