“We have the most secure border in American history. Our borders are CLOSED to lawbreakers.”
US Customs and Border Protection announced Friday that February marked the tenth straight month with zero illegal immigrants released into the US after crossing the southern border.
“Ten straight months of ZERO illegal aliens released at the border. President Trump promised to secure the Border, and that is a promise we delivered,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem in a statement. “We have the most secure border in American history. Our borders are CLOSED to lawbreakers.”
Southwest border apprehensions are 97 percent lower now than they were under the Biden administration, while daily apprehensions have dropped 95 percent. There have also been 13 consecutive months with fewer than 9,000 apprehensions at the southern border.
In February, the number of US Border Patrol apprehensions per day was lower than what agents encountered in a single hour during peak periods under the previous administration
“February marks the tenth straight month that U.S. Border Patrol has not released a single illegal alien into the interior of the United States — a clear reflection of the enforcement-first posture restoring integrity to our nation’s borders,” said CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott. “While threats to our national and economic security continue to evolve, so does our resolve to meet them, as we carry out our mission of protecting the homeland while facilitating lawful travel and trade.”
CBP data also showed a surge in drug seizures, with the agency recording its highest single month since October 2021. Compared to January 2026, marijuana seizures increased 129 percent, fentanyl 67 percent, methamphetamine 46 percent, and cocaine 39 percent.
