Dec. 12 (UPI) — A California woman scored a $1 million top price from a California Lottery scratch-off ticket just one day before her birthday.
Latreice Presentine told California Lottery officials Sweet Time Donuts on East Compton Boulevard in Compton is her preferred spot to buy tickets.
“I always go to this doughnut shop and buy two $10 Scratchers every morning,” Presentine said.
She said that was the routine she followed on the day before her birthday.
“The second one I scratched had a matching number, and underneath it was $1,000,000,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it. I kept looking and looking at the ticket, and I was like, ‘God, for real god? This is how you’re doing me a day before my birthday?'”
Presentine said her plans for the money include paying off some debt, purchasing a car and putting a down payment on a house.
