Feb. 18 (UPI) — A California man took a trip to Maryland to visit his daughter and ended up winning a $50,000 lottery prize during his vacation.

The man told Maryland Lottery officials he’s a frequent lottery player in California, so he decided to give the Maryland Lottery a try while visiting his daughter and her family.

He bought a $5 Festive Fortune scratch-off ticket from the Check Cash Depot on Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie and revealed a $50,000 top prize.

“The most recent win leaves four of the original eight $50,000 prizes unclaimed on the Festive Fortune game, along with tens of thousands of other prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000,” the Maryland Lottery said.
