DJ Daniel, the 13-year-old honorary Secret Service agent battling brain cancer who was awarded that title during President Donald Trump’s speech to the joint sessino of Congress on Tuesday, appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room to discuss his recent meeting with Trump in the Oval Office. Daniel said he “wanted to see Donald Trump in real life and now it’s actually came true.”
In an interview outside the White House with War Room co-host and White House correspondent Natalie Winters, Daniel said he gave Trump a note reading, “Donald Trump is the best President of the United States of America.”
Winters asked Daniel what advice he would give, to which he responded, “Please stop being mean to President Trump ‘cause if I see you being mean to him, I’m coming after you… If you’re a Democrat being mean to President Trump, I’m on your bumper.”
Daniel was hosted by Trump at the White House on Wednesday, where he met the president alongside his family while wearing his law enforcement uniform. His visit came after attending Trump’s State of the Union address the night before, where the president recognized him for his battle against brain cancer
“Joining us in the gallery tonight is a young man who truly loves our police. His name is DJ Daniel. He is 13 years old. And he has always dreamed of becoming a police officer himself. But in 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer. The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than six years ago. Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true. And DJ has been sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer,” Trump announced during his address.
He added, “Tonight, DJ, we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all. I am asking our new Secret Service Director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service. Thank you, DJ.”
